Heated Oxygen Sensor Monitor Function Procedure





MONITOR FUNCTION OVERVIEW
Monitoring the two heated oxygen sensors is possible by using the special service tools (SST) 49 B019 9A0-system selector and 49 H018 9A1-self-diagnosis checker.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
1. Run the engine until it reaches normal operating temperature, (closed loop).
2. Connect the SST (System Selector) to the data link connector.
3. Set switch A to position 1.
4. Set TEST SW to O2 MONITOR.

5. Connect the SST (Self-Diagnosis Checker) to the System Selector and a ground.
6. Increase engine speed to 2000 and 3000 rpm.
a. Press the brake pedal to monitor the right side sensor.
b. Release the brake pedal to monitor the left side sensor.






NOTE: The monitor lamp should flash more than 8 times in 10 seconds for each sensor.

7. Replace the heated oxygen sensor(s) if not as specified.
