Voltage Signal: Description and Operation

- Electrical load (E/L) signals (component "ON") are sent to the powertrain control module engine (PCME) from the blower motor, headlight, rear window defroster, and fog light circuits, via the central processing unit (CPU).
- When any of these loads are present, the CPU sends the "E/L" signal to the PCME which then modifies the duty cycle signal to the idle air control valve. This maintains correct idle speed.
