Removal/ Installation

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Disconnect the distributor connector.
3. Remove high tension leads from distributor cap.
4. Remove distributor cap.
5. Turn crankshaft to #1 cylinder TDC and note rotor position.
6. Remove mounting bolt and pull out distributor.

NOTE: Do not turn engine while distributor is removed.

INSTALLATION
Install in reverse order and note the following:




1. Replace both O-rings and coat them with clean engine oil.
2. Coat the coupling shaft with grease.
3. Ensure that #1 cylinder is at TDC.
4. Install distributor with rotor pointing in same direction as it was during removal.
5. After installation, adjust ignition timing.
6. Tighten mounting bolt:

Torque: 19-25 Nm (14-18 ft.lb.)
