SUNROOF POSITION PLATE MODIFICATION
APPLICABLE MODELS/VINS
1992-94 929 vehicles with a VIN of JM1HD461*R0399999 and lower.
DESCRIPTION
The position plate (rear section) is changed from a chalking type to a molded type to improve rigidity and productivity. The former plate and the modified plate are fully interchangeable.
When Installing The Modified Position Plate On Vehicles With Steel Sunroof Panels
Two (2) clips must also be installed when the modified position plate is installed on a vehicle with a steel sunroof panel. These clips enable the sunshade to work properly when closing the sunroof from a fully open position.
CLIP INSTALLATION PROCEDURE (Steel Sunroof Panel Only)
1. Fully assemble sunroof and test the operation.
NOTE:
^ Do Not install sunroof panel.
^ Because of the difficulty in removing the clips after installation, confirm the proper operation of the sunroof prior to engaging the clips.
2. Place two (2) clips on the rear lip of the sunshade approximately four (4) inches from each side.
3. Install the sunroof panel and operate the sunroof. Confirm that the sunshade slides completely to the rear and engages the clips.
