Connecting Rod: Testing and Inspection

NOTE: Clean all parts, being sure to remove all gasket fragments, dirt and oil. Be careful not to damage the joints or friction surfaces of aluminum alloy components.


1. Measure inner bore diameter of connecting rod. Diameter should be 0.9096-0.9112 inch. If connecting rod is replaced, connecting rod cap must also be replaced.
2. Measure connecting rod crankshaft bore diameter. Diameter should be 2.1720-2.1728 inches. Out-of-round allowance is 0.0004 inch and taper allowance is 0.0004. If any of these measurements do not meet specifications, connecting rod must be replaced.
