Camber & Caster
Camber/Caster Adjuster:
NOTE: Camber and caster adjustment is possible with adjusters available in 0°30' and 1°30' increments. One adjuster is used to adjust both caster and camber, depending on its orientation.
1. Measure camber and caster. Note difference between actual measurements and required specifications.
2. If adjustment is necessary, determine amount of camber and caster in adjuster installed in vehicle.
NOTE: Degrees of camber and caster are stamped on top of production adjuster. For right side, first number is amount of caster and second number is amount of camber. For left side, measurements are opposite sign (+ or -) of number shown.
3. Select a new adjuster.
NOTE: Camber or caster change required to obtain correct settings must be added to amounts of camber and caster in original adjuster.
4. Remove front wheels.
5. Loosen pinch bolt at upper ball joint and pry out adjuster. If necessary, use pitman arm puller (#T64P-3590-F), or equivalent, to remove adjuster.
Camber/Caster Adjuster Torque:
6. Install new adjuster and tighten pinch bolt:
TORQUE: 48 - 65 ftlb (65 - 88 Nm)
6. Install new camber/caster adjuster snap ring on 4X4's with Dana 35 axle.
7. Install front wheels and check alignment. If necessary, rotate adjuster until optimum alignment setting is obtained.
8. Adjust total toe-in.
