No Diagnostic Trouble Code Numbers Obtained

TROUBLE CODE: NO CODES OBTAINED

1. With ignition switch on and voltage below 2 volts, is Powertrain Control Module (PCM) terminal 29 (44 for manual transmission) voltage OK with PCM connector disconnected?

Yes - Go to step 2.
No - Repair wiring harness (Heated Oxygen Sensor terminal (GY/LB) - PCM terminal 29 (44 for manual transmission))

2. Is there continuity between Data Link Connector terminal (P/LG) to PCM terminal 17 (P/LG), AND Data Link Connector terminal (GY/R) to PCM terminal 46 (GY/R)?

Yes - Go to step 3.
No - Repair wiring harness.

3. Is there continuity between Data Link Connector terminal (W/PU) and PCM terminal 48?

Yes - Go to step 4.
No - Repair wiring harness.

4. Does no continuity exist between PCM terminal 48 and a ground with the PCM connector disconnected?

Yes - Go to step 5.
No - Repair wiring harness.

5. With ignition switch on, is there battery voltage at PCM terminals 37 and 57 with PCM connector disconnected?

Yes - Go to step 6.
No - Repair wiring harness (PCM power relay terminal (R) - PCM terminal 37 and 57)

6. Is Malfunction Indicator Lamp operating OK?

Yes - Replace PCM.
No - Refer to "Instrument Panel, Gauges and Warning Indicators."
