Component Tests and General Diagnostics
SPARK TEST1. Disable the fuel pump by disconnecting the inertia fuel cutoff connector.
2. Remove the spark plug.
3. Connect the spark plug to the high-tension lead.
4. Hold the lead and spark plug with insulated pliers 5-10 mm (0.20-0.39 in) from a ground.
Checking for Spark:
5. Crank the engine and verify that a strong blue spark is visible.
6. If there is no spark, refer to Diagnosis by Symptom / No start or misfire. 5 Cranks Normally But Will Not Start
