Fuel Pressure: Testing and Inspection

WARNING: Before performing the following operation, release the fuel pressure from the fuel system to reduce the possibility of injury or fire.

SST Fuel Gauge With Pressure Release Hose:

1. Install the Special Service Tool.

Data Link Connector:

2. Connect the data link connector terminal FP to ground with a jumper wire.
3. Turn the ignition switch ON for 30 sec. to operate the fuel pump.
4. Turn the ignition switch OFF and disconnect the jumper wire.
5. Observe the fuel pressure.

Fuel pressure: 240 - 310 kPa (35 - 45 psi)

6. Observe the fuel pressure after 1 min.

Fuel pressure: Within 34 kPa (5 psi) of reading In test step 5.

7. If not as specified, perform the following inspections:
- Fuel pump. Testing and Inspection
- Pressure regulator. Testing and Inspection
- Injector fuel leakage.
