Control Valve Body

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Raise and support vehicle.
3. Loosen pan attaching bolts and drain fluid from transmission.
4. Remove pan and gasket.
5. Remove filter screen and gasket.
6. Remove rear servo cover, piston, spring and gasket.
7. Disconnect converter clutch solenoid electrical leads, if applicable.
8. Remove control valve body attaching bolts, then the valve body.

INSTALLATION
1. Clean and inspect valve body prior to installation.
2. Attach and lock selector lever connection rod to manual valve and ease control body into place. Use care not to bend selector lever.
3. Insert correct length bolts, finger tight, into holes marked A and B in Fig. 3.
4. Insert remaining bolts and torque to 71 - 79 in.lb.
5. Remove bolt from hole A and install detent spring to bolt, reassemble and torque bolts A and B to 71 - 79 in.lb.
6. Install low reverse servo cover, piston, spring and gasket.
7. Connect solenoid wires, replace filter and install oil pan.
8. Fill transmission and check for leaks.
