A/C Signal: Description and Operation

PURPOSE
The The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) uses this signal to adjust the Idle Air Control Solenoid to maintain the proper (controlled) idle speed.

OPERATION
The PCM monitors the A/C Clutch apply signal and adjusts the opening of the Idle Air Control Solenoid to increase the idle speed when the A/C is operating.
