A/C Cutout System

PURPOSE
The A/C Cutout System is used to improve idle smoothness immediately after starting the engine, improve acceleration performance and help prevent engine overheating.

OPERATION
Based on sensor inputs, the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) activates the Wide Open Throttle (WOT) A/C Cutout Relay during the following conditions:
- Immediately after engine start
- When throttle valve is fully open
- During excessively high engine temperatures
