Clutch Switch: Description and Operation
PURPOSEThe Powertrain Control Module (PCM) uses the Clutch Pedal Position Switch (input) to determine engine load and adjust engine operating parameters according to PCM programming.

OPERATION
The PCM sends out a 5 Volt reference signal through PCM terminal No.30 to the Clutch Pedal Position Switch.
- With the clutch pedal DEPRESSED the 5 Volt reference signal flows through the Clutch Pedal Position Switch and returns to the PCM at a common ground at PCM terminal No.46.
- With the clutch pedal RELEASED current flow is interrupted and the PCM senses no current flow through PCM terminal No.30.
