EGR Valve: Service and Repair
View: Exhaust Gas Recirculation Components:
REMOVAL
1. Remove the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Differential Pressure Feedback (PFE) Sensor retaining bolt and move the PFE Sensor out of the way.
2. Disconnect the EGR valve from the EGR exhaust manifold tube.
3. Remove the EGR valve retaining bolts and the EGR valve from the upper manifold.
4. Clean the mating surfaces, being careful not to allow debris to fall into the intake manifold.
INSTALLATION
1. Using a new gasket, install the EGR valve to the upper manifold. Install the retaining bolts leaving them slightly loose. (This will allow slight movement of the EGR valve which will ease alignment with the EGR exhaust manifold tube).
2. Connect the EGR valve to the exhaust manifold tube.
3. Tighten EGR retaining bolts.
4. Torque the EGR exhaust manifold tube to 34-47 Nm (25-35 ft.lb.).
5. Install the PFE Sensor and retaining bolt.
