Positive Crankcase Ventilation: Testing and Inspection

Checking PCV Valve:

1. Warm engine to operating temperature and run at idle.
2. Disconnect PCV valve with ventilation hose from cylinder head cover.
3. Block valve opening and check that vacuum is felt. Replace valve if necessary.

PCV Valve:

4. Remove valve.
5. Blow through valve from port "A" and verify that air comes out port "B".
6. Blow through valve from port "B" and verify that no air comes out port "A".
7. Replace PCV valve if necessary.
