Removal

Timing Chain Assembly - Exploded View:

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Drain the engine oil and coolant.
3. Remove the radiator cowling and cooling fan.
4. Remove the cylinder head and oil pan.
5. Remove drive belts, water pump pulley, alternator and alternator bracket.
6. Remove power steering pump and power steering pump bracket.
7. Remove A/C compressor and compressor bracket.
8. Remove water pump and coolant bypass pipe.
9. Using SST 49 S120 710 or equivalent, remove the crankshaft pulley.

Using SST On Crankshaft Pulley:

10. Remove timing chain cover.
11. Remove spacer, idler sprocket assembly lock bolt, chain guides and idler sprocket assembly.
12. Remove crankshaft sprocket, balancer chain and chain adjuster.
13. Remove camshaft pulley, timing chain and timing gear.
14. Remove key, chain lever, and chain guide.
