Voltage Signal: Description and Operation

PURPOSE
Crank angle sensor generates two signals monitored by the ECU.

"G" signal detects #1 cylinder TDC and is used by PCME to calculate fuel injection timing.

"Ne" signal is an engine speed (rpm) signal used by PCME in its control calculations for several output devices:

^ Fuel injection timing and quantity
^ Idle air control valve
^ Purge solenoid valve
^ Pressure regulator control solenoid valve
^ Mass airflow sensor burn-off
^ Fuel pump relay
^ Ignition timing control (igniter)
