Neutral Safety Switch: Description and Operation
Park/Neutral Switch:
PURPOSE
Signals PCME as to transmission operating range and prevents vehicle starting except in "P" or "N" positions.
PCME uses transmission operating range input in its control calculations for these outputs:
^ Fuel injection quantity
^ Pressure regulator solenoid valve
^ Idle speed control
^ Purge solenoid valve
^ A/C cut-off

Right side of transmission.
