A/C Signal: Description and Operation

A/C Cut-Off Control System:

PURPOSE
A/C cut-off system is designed to improve idle smoothness just after starting, improve acceleration performance and prevent engine overheating.

OPERATION
The PCME controls this system according to inputs from several sensors, including a sensor in the A/C amplifier (A/C sensor) and the A/C pressure switch. The PCME initiates A/C cut-off under specified driving conditions by de-energizing the A/C clutch relay.

A/C is cut under these conditions:
^ For approximately 2 seconds after engine start
^ For approximately 5 seconds when the throttle is fully open
