EGR Valve Position Sensor: Testing and Inspection

OUTPUT VOLTAGE INSPECTION

EGR Function Sensor Check:






1. Connect SST (or equivalent) to PCME.
2. Connect vacuum pump to EGR valve.
3. Turn ignition ON (engine OFF) and measure voltage as shown on image chart.
4. If not correct, check wiring harness from sensor to PCME.

RESISTANCE

EGR Function Sensor Resistance:






1. Unplug sensor connector. Disconnect vacuum hose and connect vacuum pump.
2. Measure resistance between terminals with vacuum applied, as shown on image chart:

3. If not as specified, replace EGR control valve assembly.
