Exhaust Gas Recirculation: Testing and Inspection

EGR System Operation:

1. Connect SST (or equivalent equipment) as shown.
2. Start engine. Drive vehicle and verify PCME terminals 1R and 1T read battery voltage while engine is still cold.
3. Warm engine to operating temperture.
4. Drive vehicle and verify Engine Signal Monitor (SST #49 9200 162) green and red lights flash when SST is set to 1R and 1T.
5. Ground PCME terminal 1T with jumper wire. Engine should run rough or stall at idle.
