Positive Crankcase Ventilation: Testing and Inspection
PCV Valve Check:
1.
Run engine at idle.
2.
Pull valve from cylinder head cover, with hose attached, and verify vacuum is felt at valve opening.
3.
Stop engine. Remove valve from hose.
4.
Blow through valve from port A and verify air comes out port B.
5.
Blow through port B and verify no air comes out Port A.
6.
If not as specified, replace valve.
