Some vehicles may experience hesitation and/or surge at cruising speeds [40-30 MPH (48-64 KM/H)] under light engine load conditions with the engine at normal operating temperature. This concern may be aggravated by high ambient temperatures, high humidity and low fuel volatility.

A Powertrain Control Module (PCM) with revised calibration is available to reduce this concern. Customers complaining of this concern should have the vehicle inspected and repaired according to the instructions in this bulletin.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

1. Verify the concern.

2. Perform the diagnostic procedure according to section F of the applicable workshop manual. Service as required.

3. If the concern still exists, replace the PCM with a new service part. Refer to the PCM Reference Chart for the correct application.

4. Verify repair.

5. List the date, dealer code and alterations preformed on the "Authorized Modification" decal.
