Throttle Position Sensor: Testing and Inspection
INSPECTION1. Disconnect the PCM connector.
2. Connect the SST (NGS) to the DATA link connector.
3. Turn the ignition switch ON.
4. Select PID/DATA monitor and record function of the NGS.
5. Select TPS on the NGS display. NGS measures and shows voltages.
6. Rotate the throttle linkage by hand and verify that the voltage is within specification.
7. If not as specified, replace the throttle position sensor.
Note: The throttle position sensor is not adjustable.
