Ignition Control Module: Testing and Inspection
1. Disconnect the ignition control module connector.2. Connect the SST (Special Service Tool)(Adapter harness) between the ignition control module and ignition control module connector.
3. Connect the connector (4-pin) of the SST (Igniter checker) to the SST (Adapter harness).
4. Connect an ohmmeter as follows;
+ lead to ground
- lead to SST (Adapter harness)
5. Set the ohmmeter scale change dial to x 1.
6. Connect the SST (Igniter checker) to the battery.
7. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
CAUTION: Holding the SW2 switch ON for more than 1 second can damage the ignition control module.
8. Push up the SW2 switch on the SST while observing the ohmmeter.
9. Verify that the pointer needle of the ohmmeter jumps and then returns.
10. If not as specified, replace the ignition control module.
