Coolant Fan Control




The Engine Control Module (ECM) controls the coolant fan and the condenser fan to provide more efficient fan control. This improves the performance reliability and stability during idling of an engine.
The coolant fan is normal when it starts to operate with data link connector terminal TEN grounded and the accelerator pedal is depressed (Ignition switch ON).




OPERATION CONDITION
Coolant Fan
The coolant fan rotates at a constant velocity.

Condenser Fan
- The condenser fan is operated by the ECM (Engine Control Module).
- The condenser fan rotates at a constant velocity.

NOTE:The condenser fan operates when any of the following conditions are satisfied:
- Except during acceleration, except at starting, other than wide open throttle, and air conditioner is operating.
- Engine coolant temperature is above 108 °C ( 226 °F ).
- Terminal TEN grounded and closed throttle position switch off.
