Pressure Regulator Control System
Warning: Fuel line spills and leaks are dangerous. Fuel can ignite and cause serious injuries or death and damage. Fuel can also irritate skin and eyes. To prevent this, always complete the "Fuel Line Safety Procedures".Inspection
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Connect a pressure gauge between the fuel filter (high-pressure side) and the fuel distributor.
3. Connect the negative battery cable.
4. Start the engine and let it idle.
5. Carry out the intake manifold vacuum inspection.
6. Measure the fuel line pressure.
Specification: 200-240 kPa (29-34 psi)
7. If not as specified, carry out fuel line pressure inspection.
8. Disconnect the PRC solenoid valve connector.
9. Apply battery positive voltage to terminal A and ground terminal B of the PRC solenoid valve.
10. Measure the fuel line pressure.
Specification: 270-310 kPa (39-45 psi)
11. If not as specified, inspect the PRC solenoid valve.
12. If PRC solenoid valve is OK, replace the pressure regulator.
