Repair Procedure

1. Verify the concern.

2. Remove the following according to the appropriate workshop manual:

^ Window Crank (if equipped)
^ Door Speaker
^ Door Trim Panel
^ Mirror
^ Door Poly-Shield
^ Inner/Outer Belt Moldings

3. Raise the window to a fully closed position.





4. Inspect the vertical channel for any dust debris or metal filings. Clean thoroughly. Refer to figure 1.

5. Apply approximately 8 grams of grease to the vertical channel.

6. Lower the window to a full open position.





7. Remove the forward glass run lower attachment bolt. Refer to figure 2.

Note:
Glass run removal does not require door glass removal.

8. Remove the glass run from the door while the window is in the open position.





9. Install the new glass run assembly. Refer to figure 3.

a. Carefully install the rigid section of the glass run into the door and align the glass run bracket hole with the hole in the inner door panel.

b. Hand start the previously removed forward glass run lower attachment bolt.

c. Position the new glass run so that the top corner of the rigid section is fully seated in the corner of the "A" pillar and aligned.

d. Seat the glass run from point "X" to point "Y."

e. Seat the upper rear corner "Z" leaving a gap between the "Z" and the "Y" point.

f. Seat the end most portion of the glass run into the bottom portion of the door "W" leaving a gap between points "Z," and "W."

NOTE:
Confirm that the upper rear corner is fully seated prior to completing the installation.





10. Seat the remaining portion of the glass run into the door flange using a rubber mallet. Refer to figure 4.

NOTE:
Confirm that the corners are fully seated prior to seating the remaining portion of the glass run.

11. Secure the glass run lower attachment bolt as shown in figure 4.

Tightening Torque: 10.2 - 13.8 Nm (7.5 - 10 ft. lbs.)

NOTE:
Confirm that the door glass is in the lower position prior to installing the attachment bolt.

12. Install all removed components according to the appropriate workshop manual.

13. Verify repair.
