Transmission Temperature Sensor/Switch: Testing and Inspection
TRANSMISSION FLUID TEMPERATURE SENSOR
Inspection:
1. On level ground, jack up the vehicle and support it evenly on safety stands.
2. Loosen the oil pan mounting bolts, and drain the ATF into a container.
3. Remove the oil pan.
4. Remove the control valve body and solenoid connector.
5. Place the transmission fluid temperature sensor in water with a thermometer as shown and heat the water gradually.
6. Measure the resistance between the terminals.
- If necessary, replace the transmission fluid temperature sensor.
7. Install the solenoid connector and control valve body.
8. Install the oil pan.
9. Pour in ATF, and with the engine idling, check the ATF level and check for leaks.
10. Carry out the time lag test and the line pressure test.
11. Carry out the road test.
