Tightening Specifications

Intake:

Intake Torque Sequence:

Install and tighten the bolts in sequence in three steps.
1) Tighten to 4-8 Nm ( 3-6 ft lbs.).
2) Tighten to 8-15 Nm (6-11 ft lbs.).
3) Tighten to 15-22 Nm (11-16 ft lbs.).

Head Bolt Torque:

Head Torque Sequence:

Install bolts and tighten in sequence shown in three steps:
1) Tighten to 30 - 35 Nm (23 - 25 ft. lbs.).
2) Tighten to 70 - 75 Nm (52 - 72 ft. lbs.).
3) Tighten an additional 90 degrees.

Rocker Shaft:

Install the rocker arm shaft assembly and tighten in two steps.
1) Tighten to 30 - 34 Nm (23 - 25 ft. lbs.).
2) Tighten an additional 90 degrees.

Timing Components:

Lower Engine:

Using standard cross-tightening sequence; tighten flywheel / flexplate -to-crankshaft bolts as follows:
First stage: 12-15 Nm (9-11 ft. lbs.).
Second stage: 68-74 Nm (50-55 ft. lbs.).
