A/C Compressor Removal / Installation

1. Discharge the refrigerant from the system.
2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
3. Remove the air cleaner.
4. Remove the A/C drive belt.
5. Disconnect the flexible hoses (HI) and (LO).

CAUTION: If moisture or foreign material enters the refrigeration system, cooling ability will be lowered and abnormal noise will occur. Always immediately plug all open fittings after removing any refrigeration system parts to keep moisture or foreign material out of the system.




6. Remove in the order indicated in the table.
7. Install in the reverse order of removal indicated in the table.
8. Reconnect the flexible hoses (HI) and (LO).
9. Install and adjust the A/C drive belt.
10. Install the air cleaner.
11. Connect the negative battery cable.
12. Charge the system and test its performance.

NOTE: Remove the following amount of A/C compressor oil from the new A/C compressor when replacing the A/C compressor.

Compressor oil to be removed
200 ml (200 cc , 6.76 fl.oz.) - compressor oil from old A/C compressor + 15 m (15 cc 0.5 fl.oz.).
