Catalytic Converter: Service and Repair

ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION
Start the engine and verify that there is no exhaust gas leakage from the exhaust system components.

REMOVAL / INSPECTION / INSTALLATION
1. Remove in the order shown in the figure.
2. Check all parts and repair or replace as necessary.
3. Install in the reverse order of removal.

Exhaust System Components:

1. Main silencer - Inspect for deterioration and restriction.
2. Pre silencer - Inspect for deterioration and restriction.
3. Three way catalytic converter - Inspect for deterioration and restriction.
4. Transverse member.
5. Front pipe - Inspect for deterioration and cracks.
6. Insulator.
7. EGR pipe - Inspect for deterioration and cracks.
8. Exhaust manifolds - Inspect for deterioration and cracks.
