RATTLE NOISE FROM REAR SEAT BACK
NOTE:
This bulletin replaces the previously released bulletin (Cat. S, No. 055/96)
DESCRIPTION
A rattle noise may be heard from the rear of the vehicle while driving over rough road surfaces. The noise is caused by excessive clearance between the rear seat back "fixing hook" and the receptacle.
To correct this condition, the angle of the fixing hook has changed to reduce the clearance between the hook and receptacle.
Customers complaining of this noise should have the vehicle inspected and if necessary, repaired according to this bulletin.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Verify complaint
^ If noise is present when the rear seat is occupied, refer to Service Bulletin Cat. S, No. 014/96.
^ If noise is present when the rear seat is not occupied, proceed to step 2.
2. Remove the rear seat back
3. Bend fixing hooks on seat back Refer to Fig 1.
4. Install seat back
