Fluid - A/T: Service and Repair

REPLACEMENT
1. Remove the oil level gauge.
2. Remove the drain plug and washer.





3. Drain the ATF into a container.
4. Install a new washer and the drain plug. Tighten to 40 - 53 Nm (29 - 39 ft. lbs.).





5. Remove the oil level gauge and add 8.0 liters (8.5 quarts) of M-III or Dexron II through the oil filler tube.
6. Install the oil level gauge.
7. Ensure that the ATF level is in the HOT 65°C (149°F) range.
8. Add ATF to the specified level if necessary.
