Fuel Pump Relay: Testing and Inspection
Simulation Test1. Carry out the "Fuel Pump Operation Inspection", "Fuel Pump Control Inspection".

Testing and Inspection
- If not as specified, perform the further inspection for the fuel pump relay.
Continuity Inspection
NOTE: Perform the following test only when directed.
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the fuel pump relay.
3. Inspect for continuity between the fuel pump relay terminals using an ohmmeter.
- If not as specified, replace the fuel pump relay.
- If as specified but the "Simulation Test" is failed, inspect the fuel pump relay for the following:
Open circuit
- Ground circuit (fuel pump relay connector terminal B and PCM connector terminal 80 through common connector)
- Ground circuit (fuel pump relay connector terminal C and fuel pump unit connector terminal B through common connector)
- Power circuit (fuel pump relay connector terminal A or E and main relay connector terminal D through common connector)
Short circuit
- Fuel pump relay connector terminal B and PCM connector terminal 80 through common connector to Ground
- Fuel pump relay connector terminal C and fuel pump unit connector terminal B through common connector to Ground
4. Repair or replace faulty areas.
5. Install the fuel pump relay.
6. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
