Front Fender: Service and Repair






Removal Note
1. Remove the front bumper.
2. Remove the parking lamp assembly.
3. Remove the radiator opening cover.
4. Remove the stone deflector.
5. If equipped, remove the mud flap.

CAUTION: Remove the electrical connector locators from the splash shield prior to removal.

CAUTION: On the right hand splash shield, disconnect the vacuum lines from the vacuum reservoir.

6. Remove the splash shield.
7. Remove the front fender cowl side sound absorber.
8. Remove the lower front fender to rocker panel bolt.
- If equipped, remove and retain the front fender spacer(s) for installation.

9. Open the front door and remove the front fender bolt.
10. Remove the front fender to radiator support brace bolt.
11. Position the radiator grille opening panel reinforcement forward.
12. Remove the cruise control servo bolt and position the cruise control servo aside.
13. Remove the front fender bolts.
14. Remove the front fender.

Installation Note
1. Install the front fender.
- Install the bolts.

Tightening torque
10 - 14 Nm { 102 - 143 Kgf.cm, 8 - 10 ft.lbf }

2. If equipped, on the right hand front fender, install the cruise control servo.
- Install the bolt.

Tightening torque
9 - 12 Nm { 92 - 122 Kgf.cm, 7 - 9 ft.lbf }

3. Install the grille opening panel reinforcement bolts.

Tightening torque
6 - 8 Nm { 61 - 82 Kgf.cm, 54 - 70 in.lbf }

4. Install the front tender to radiator support brace bolt.

Tightening torque
10 - 14 Nm { 102 - 143 Kgf.cm, 8 - 10 ft.lbf }

5. Open the front door and install the front fender bolt.

Tightening torque
10 - 14 Nm { 102 - 143 Kgf.cm, 8 - 10 ft.lbf}

6. Install the lower front fender to rocker panel bolt.
- If required, install the fender spacer(s), maximum two each side.

Tightening torque
10 - 14 Nm { 102 - 143 Kgf.cm, 8 - 10 ft.lbf }

7. Install the front fender cowl side sound absorber.

NOTE: Install the electrical connector locators into the proper positions.

NOTE: On the right hand splash shield, connect the vacuum lines to the vacuum reservoir.

8. Install the splash shield.
9. If equipped, install the mud flap.
10. Install the radiator opening cover.
11. Install the parking lamp assembly.
12. Install the front bumper.
