Cruise Control Servo Cable: Service and Repair
1. Remove the accelerator control splash shield.2. Remove the cruise control actuator cable bolt (2.5L and 3.0L).
3. Remove the cruise control actuator cable clip (4.0L only).
4. Separate the actuator cable from the throttle body linkage.
5. Remove the cable from the servo.
6. Press the cruise control actuator locking clip inward and twist the actuator counterclockwise.
NOTE: Make sure the seal is present and pressed into position.
7. Remove the cable from the nesting slot.
8. Lock the cable ball slug into the slot located in the servo rotor.
NOTE: Make sure the white indicator mark is visible on cruise control actuator cable for proper routing.
9. Pull the cable taut at the throttle body end.
10. Align and insert the cap into the slots in the servo body.
11. Rotate the cap clockwise until the locking arm on the cap engages the tab on the servo.
12. Snap the actuator cable onto the throttle body linkage.
CAUTION: The guide pin must be fully seated before installing the cruise control actuator cable bolt.
13. Install the cruise control actuator cable bolt (2.5L and 3.0L).
14. Install the cruise control actuator cable clip (4.0L only).
15. Install in reverse order of removal.
Cruise Control Actuator Cable Removal Note
1. Depress the cruise control actuator cable cap tab inward and twist the actuator cap counterclockwise to remove.
Cruise Control Actuator Cable Installation Note
1. Lock the cable ball slug into the slot located in the servo rotor.
NOTE: Be sure white indicator mark is visible on cruise control actuator cable for proper routing.
2. Pull the cable taut at the throttle body end.
3. Align and insert the cap into the slots in the servo body.
4. Rotate the cap clockwise until the locking arm on the cap engages the tab on the servo.
