Basic Testing and Inspection System











MECHANICAL PREPARATION
Check. install or adjust the following components. If any repairs are required, note your actions in the comment section of this PDI form.

EXTERIOR-UNDER HOOD-ENGINE OFF

- Check engine oil and add it necessary
- Check power steering fluid (hot)
- Check brake master cylinder fluid
- Check windshield washer reservoir fluid level
- Check engine coolant level (cold)
- Check clutch master cylinder fluid
- Check battery cables for tightness and proper assembly
- Check electrical and vacuum connections
- Check emission control system for loose, missing or damaged components

EXTERIOR-ON HOIST

- Check fuel, engine coolant, brake, exhaust and steering lines, fittings, and connections for leaks, damage and routing
- Check steering gear, steering linkage, flex coupling, suspension and exhaust system for looseness or damage
- Check tire pressure and adjust if necessary.

ROAD TEST
Inspect the operation and adjustment of vehicle systems. If any repairs are required, note your actions in the comment section of this PDI form.

PRE-DRIVE TEST

- Check warning system
- Check headlights, taillights, turn signals and hazard warning flashers
- Check radio/clock operation and set stations/time
- Check seatbelts
- Check seatback latches
- Check door latches
- Check parking brake (including warning light)
- Check hood alignment
- Check steering column lock
- Check starting of engine in park and neutral
- Check instruments for proper operation
- Check all lights including warning and indicator lights

ENGINE ON-ROAD TEST

- Check horn, wipers and washers
- Check heater, air conditioner, defroster and ventilation system
- Check driveability during road test. It a problem exists, perform appropriate adjustments to specifications shown on Vehicle Emission Control Information decal or perform warranty repair.
- Check throttle operation and idle return
- Check squeaks and rattles
- Check brake operation
- Check steering control
- Check transmission and clutch performance
- Check cruise control system (if equipped)
- Check transfer case operation (if equipped)

ENGINE ON - ON HOIST

- Check automatic transmission fluid/lube level (hoist in lowest position)
- Check underside fuel. coolant, brake, steering, clutch and transmission fittings, connections and components for fluid leaks

VISUAL INSPECTION
Inspect the vehicle for any damage or imperfections. If any repairs are required, note your actions in the comment section of this PDI form

EXTERIOR

- Check for exterior and interior metal, paint and glass damage and repair as required
- Install all loose packaged items (wheel covers, antennas, etc.)
- Wash the vehicle and perform detailed clean up of the interior and the exterior

INTERIOR

- Check that the necessary warranty facts booklet and owner information materials are in the vehicle,
- Remove the body, seat and carpet protective covers.
