RH Camshaft Thrust Cap Removal

Caution: Remove the camshaft bearing thrust caps Nos. 1R and 5R first. Do not loosen any of the other bolts until the thrust caps are removed, or damage to the thrust caps may occur.

Caution: Remove the camshaft bearing thrust caps Nos. 1L and 5L first. Do not loosen any of the other bolts until the thrust caps are removed, or damage to the thrust caps may occur.

Caution: Install the camshaft journal thrust caps last, or damage to the thrust caps may occur.

Tightening Torques

Cylinder Head
1. Tighten to 37 - 43 Nm (3.8 - 4.3 kgf-m, 28 - 31 ft. lbs.)
2. Tighten an additional 85° - 95°
3. Loosen 360° (one full turn) in reverse order.
4. Tighten to 37 - 43 Nm (3.8 - 4.3 kgf-m, 28 - 31 ft. lbs.)
5. Tighten an additional 85° - 95°
6. Tighten another additional 85° - 95°

Camshaft Bearing Cap 8 - 12 Nm (82 - 122 kgf-cm, 71 - 106 in. lbf.)

Oil Pump 8 - 12 Nm (81 - 123 kgf-cm, 71 - 106 in. lbf.)

Water Pump
1. Tighten to 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 89 in. lbf.)
2. Tighten an additional 85° - 95°

Crankshaft Pulley
1. Tighten to 120 Nm (12.2 kgf-m, 88.5 ft. lbf.)
2. Loosen 360° (one full turn)
3. Tighten to 47 - 53 Nm (4.8 - 5.4 kgf-m, 35 - 39 ft. lbf.)
4. Tighten an additional 85° - 95°
