Operation Mode
INSPECTION OF DTCS FOR OPERATION MODENOTE:
- The cruise set indicator light will illuminate for 3 seconds, when operation mode is on.
- If the cruise set indicator light does not illuminate for 3 seconds (Operation mode is not on), the following may be the cause of the malfunction:
- Cruise control module ignition power supply fuse
- Cruise set indicator light power supply fuse
- Cruise control switch
- Cruise control main switch
- Clock spring for air bag system
- Print plate in instrument cluster
- Cruise set indicator light bulb
- Cruise control module
- Open or short circuit in following wiring harnesses:
- Between cruise set indicator light and cruise control module
- Between fuse block and cruise control module terminal E
- Between fuse block and instrument cluster
- Between cruise control module terminal I and DLC (using the NGS set only)
- Between cruise control module and clock spring
- Between clock spring and cruise control switch
- Open circuit in following wiring harnesses:
- Between cruise control module terminal P and ground
- Between clock spring and ground
Using the Cruise Set Indicator Light
1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
2. Verify that the cruise control main switch is off.
3. Turn and hold the RESUME/ACCEL switch on (1) then turn on the cruise control main switch (2) to activate system inspection. (The cruise set indicator light will illuminate for 3 seconds.)
4. Operate each switch as described in the operation code list and note the operation code list pattern.
- If the cruise set indicator light does not flash, inspect the corresponding system area.
- If it flashes, the corresponding DTC(s) will be indicated and mode can be judged normal.
5. The operation mode is canceled by turning the ignition switch to LOCK position or turning off the cruise control main switch.
Using the SST (NGS Set)
New generation star (NGS) tester hookup procedure
NOTE: Verify that the ignition switch is at LOCK position.
1. Insert the interface module and program card into the SST (NGS tester) control unit.
2. Plug the NGS OBD-II adapter into the interface module and the connector into the DLC located in the engine compartment via the Super MECS Adapter.
3. Plug the SST (NGS tester) power cable into the cigarette lighter or use Battery Hookup Adapter.
