Interior - Cargo Net Retainer Hook Detachment

Bulletin No: 09-014/02

Last Issued: 11/22/2002

Subject:
ACCESSORY REAR CARGO NET HOOKS DETACH

APPLICABLE MODEL(S)VINs
2000-2003 MPVs

DESCRIPTION

The top hooks on the left or right side of the cargo net may become detached from the elastic cord used to support the net. There are a total of four hooks, two on the top and two on the bottom, but the concern usually happens to one or both of the top hooks.

Customers having this concern should have their vehicle repaired using the following procedure.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

1. Verify customer concern.

- If one of the cargo net hooks has become detached and is not lost, proceed to Step 2.

- If the hook is broken or lost, order a complete replacement net.

2. Remove the hook end cap by twisting and pulling the cap off.

NOTE:
Extra force may be required, but do not damage the end cap during removal.

3. Feed the net's elastic cord through the hook end cap as shown.

4. Push the cord into the hook completely so the cord bottoms out inside the hook cavity.

5. Push the hook end cap back onto the hook completely and then align the ribs of the hook and end cap.

6. Hold the hook and pull on the cord to make sure the repair is effective.
