Camshaft Position Sensor: Description and Operation

- The camshaft position sensor detects the position of the camshaft.
- The camshaft position sensor identifies when piston number one is on its compression stroke.
- A signal is then sent to the PCM and used for synchronizing the firing of sequential fuel injections.
