Crankshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair
Removal1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Raise and support the vehicle. See LIFTING.
3. Disconnect the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor electrical connector.
4. Remove the plug for the crankshaft Timing Peg.
5. Install the Crankshaft Timing Peg and turn the crankshaft pulley bolt to position the number one cylinder at top dead center.
6. Remove the CKP.
7. Install the Timing Pin.
Installation
1. Install the CKP, but do not tighten the bolts at this time.
2. Adjust the CKP with the Crankshaft Position Sensor Alignment Jig and tighten the bolts.
3. Connect the CKP electrical connector.
4. Remove the Timing Pin.
5. Remove the Crankshaft Timing Peg.
6. Install the plug.
