Removal and Installation

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Drain the engine coolant.
3. Evacuate the refrigerant from the system.

CAUTION: If moisture or foreign material enters the refrigeration cycle, cooling ability will be lowered and abnormal noise will occur. Always immediately plug open fittings after removing any refrigeration cycle parts to keep moisture or foreign material out of the cycle.

4. Remove the dashboard.

Engine Room:




Passenger Room:







5. Remove in the order indicated below.
1. Front heater hose
2. Cooler pipe No.
3. Air duct
4. Front A/C unit

6. Install in the reverse order of removal.

FRONT EVAPORATOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Evacuate the refrigerant from the system.
3. Disconnect the cooler pipe No.3 from the expansion valve.
4. Remove the glove compartment.




5. Slide the air duct toward (A) and push it down toward (B) to remove it.
6. Remove the PCM.




7. Remove in the order indicated below.
1. Heater case (5)
2. Cover
3. Front evaporator

8. Install in the reverse order of removal.
