Dashboard and Console Removal and Installation

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

WARNING: Handling the air bag modules improperly can accidentally deploy the air bag modules, which may seriously injure you. Read AIR BAG SYSTEM SERVICE WARNINGS, before handling the air bag modules.




2. If removing the dashboard, remove the A-pillar trim and the selector lever before the dashboard removal.
3. Install in the reverse order of removal.

Center Panel Removal Note

1. Set the selector lever in N range.




2. Remove the clips A using a tape-wrapped screwdriver.
3. Pull the center panel forward to remove the clips B and locator pins C from body.
4. Disconnect the cigarette lighter, cabin temperature sensor, connector, ashtray, and illumination bulb to remove the center panel.




5. Remove the ring and ashtray case.

Rear Console Disassembly Note




1. Disassemble in the order i1ndicated in the table.
2. Assemble in the reverse order of disassembly




Hinge removal/installation note
While removing or installing the hinge, insert the pin to fix the hinge.

Meter Hood Removal Note




1. Tilt the steering shaft down.
2. Remove the cap and panel light control switch.
3. Remove the meter hood installation screws.
4. Pull the meter hood to disengage the clips.




Steering Shaft Removal Note
Remove the steering shaft installation bolts.




Side Panel Removal Note
Pull the side panel to disengage the pins and the clips.

Dashboard Removal Note




1. Pull the dashboard up and forward to remove it.
2. Disconnect the harness connectors.




Dashboard Installation Note
Set the dashboard installation pin into its hole.
