Synchronizers

Disassembly Note

Note: First and second gear synchronizer shown; other synchronizers are similar.

Note: Prior to disassembly, note the position of the index marks.





1. Disassemble the synchronizer assembly.
1 Remove the synchronizer blocking springs.
2 Remove the synchronizer hub inserts.
3 Separate the synchronizer hub from the sleeve.
2. Inspect all synchronizer components for wear and damage.

Note: Align the index marks during assembly.





1. Assemble the synchronizer.
1 Position the synchronizer hub and sleeve together.
2 Install the synchronizer hub inserts.
3 Install the synchronizer blocking springs.
