Transmission Position Sensor/Switch: Testing and Inspection

NEUTRAL SWITCH INSPECTION

Inspection of Output Voltage

1. Disconnect the PCM connector.




2. Connect the SST (104 Pin Breakout Box) to the PCM as shown.
3. Tighten the connector bolt.

Tightening torque:
7.9 - 10.7 N.m {80 - 100 kgf.cm, 69.5 - 95.4 in.lbf}

4. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

Specification:




5. Measure the voltage at PCM terminal 64.
- If not as specified, check the related harness and neutral switch continuity.

Inspection of Continuity

1. Disconnect the neutral switch connector.




2. Check continuity of the switch using an ohmmeter.
- If not as specified, check the related harness and neutral switch continuity.
- If okay, inspect related harness and connectors.
