Oxygen Sensor: Service and Repair
HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (HO2S) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION1. Remove the air cleaner outlet tube See AIR CLEANER OUTLET TUBE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.
2. Disconnect the HO2S electrical connector.
3. Remove the heated oxygen sensors (HO2S) from the exhaust manifolds.
- If necessary, lubricate the heated oxygen sensors to assist in removal.
4. Raise and support the vehicle, see LIFTING.
5. Disconnect the HO2S electrical connector.
6. Remove the heated oxygen sensors from the exhaust pipe using the Oxygen Sensor Wrench.
- If necessary, lubricate the heated oxygen sensors to assist in removal.
NOTE: Apply a light coat of anti-seize compound to the threads of the heated oxygen sensors.
7. Install in reverse order of removal.
Tightening torque: {36 - 46 N.m, 27 - 33 ft.lbf}
