Ignition Coil: Service and Repair

NOTE: If the coil is faulty, replace the distributor.

DISTRIBUTOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.




2. Remove in the order indicated in the table.
1. Connector
2. High-tension lead
3. Distributor

3. Install in the reverse order of removal.

DISTRIBUTOR DISASSEMBLY/ASSEMBLY




1. Disassemble in the order indicated in the table.
1. Distributor cap (See Distributor Cap and Rotor)
2. Rotor (See Distributor Cap and Rotor)
3. Packing
4. Ignition control module, ignition coil and camshaft position sensor

2. Assemble in the reverse order of disassembly.
