Ignition Coil: Testing and Inspection

Primary coil winding

1. Disconnect the distributor 3-pin connector.




2. Measure the resistance between terminals A and B using an ohmmeter.
- If not as specified, replace the distributor.

Specification: 0.49 - 0.73 Ohm [20 °C {68 °F}]

Secondary coil winding

1. Disconnect the distributor 3-pin connector.
2. Remove the distributor cap.




3. Measure the resistance as shown in the figure using an ohmmeter.
- If not as specified, replace the distributor.

Specification: 20 - 31 kilOhms [20 °C {68 °F}]
